Jones Block is located north west of the township of McLaren Vale in the highly regarded sub-region of Seaview Road. The sections selected are “Split Block” and the “D Block”. The vines are an average of 45 years. Hand pruning and thinning of individual bunches ensures the low and uniform yield required for the production of Super Shiraz. “Spilt Block” imparts savoury, black live characters. “D Block” imparts attractive rich berry fruit. The wine was oak matured for 20 months in French Oak (75%) and American American Oak (25%) barriques (45% New, 30% 1 year old, and 25% older). With a rich palate of plums, chocolate and layers of savour spice complexity. A long focused palate of balanced fruit and tannin. Will keep for 10 – 15 years awaiting enjoyment on your desert island! It has a generous yet elegant style for wine lovers and raconteurs to appreciate carefully. Awarded an International Wine Challenge Bronze Medal
